Monday, 22 March 2010. SPECIAL GUEST Rada Djuricin Seventh Concert for Newlyweds in City Hall, traditionally, is trying to present marital love through the prism of famous artists and creations that are inspired by their spouses or children. Almost without exception, a concert for the newlyweds is why we can still hear the opus of Johann Sebastian Bach (whose marriage to Anna Magdalena was one of the most harmonious and productive in music history) and Edvard Grieg (whose wife was one of the best ambassadors of his songs).

This year, in which we celebrate the 200 anniversary of the birth of Robert Schumann and the 170-year anniversary of Robert’s marriage with the famous pianist Clara Wieck, compositions, made from this very conflict, problematic, and unusually productive community, take a special place.

In this context, “Mephisto Waltz” by Liszt, performed by Milan Miladinovic AUNS professor, stands as a complete contrast to spiritual states of composers inspired by his
marital love.

Pianist Marina Milic-Apostolović, author of traditional concerts for Newlyweds brings us several new features.

For the first time, as a special guest, will perform an actor – the eminent actress Djuricin Rada, with a rich range of selected “marital” texts from recently deceased Momo Kapor, Carl Sandberg, Branislav Nusic to Khalil Gibran.

Although the entrance is free, with the donation of 300 dinars anyone who is interested can make reservations of the seat number in advance (there are not many compared to the response of the audience), wherewith helping the Fund “Laza Kostic”. The income from these reservations is directly paid to SOSO “Milan Petrovic” in Novi Sad, where the manual on healthy living Laza Kostic and US sports, health and beauty was printed, marking the occasion of 100 anniversary of the death of this great poet.
