Patients, recovering from the drug abuse, drinking problems, other addictions and depression, were deeply touched by the jazz trio from the Academy of Art, Novi Sad, who’s light and cheerful music was lifting their spirits. Not less attractive was a choir from the ’Laza Kostic school’ in Belgrade and most enegretic conductor, choir master and composer, professor Milorad Djuric.

Juliana Kostic (born Palanacki) was not beautiful by sight, but had a beautiful soul. She saved Laza: his work and himself. Thanks to his wife, after 50 years of wandering from town to town, state to state, finally, Kostic settled in Sombor, entered a warm haven, cherished and looked after by his beloving wife. It is not at all a coincidence that the most important works were created within the safety, peace and security of Sombor’s harbor.
